However, their response is also affected by the local environment, including both biological and abiotic factors. Because the Antarctic is less affected by human activities, soil microbes are more susceptible to soil organic carbon, organic nitrogen and nutrient(phosphate, ammonium) content. Therefore, the study of soil microbes in the Antarctic region can also reflect the climate and environmental changes in the Antarctic.

Abstract

Soil microbes are sensitive ecological indicators of a range of habitats in the polar regions.
